‘’The future of technology-based kidney replacement therapies’’ at EDTNA/ERCA in Greece 

September 21-24, 2024 

Professor Fokko Wieringa presented to a large audience at the European Dialysis and Transplant Nurses Association/European Renal Care Association. The implantable artificial kidney was covered, and many new contacts were made. 

Presentation at Euromembranes in Prague 

September 8-12, 2024

The development of the silicon nanopore membranes was presented by Dr. Swathi Suran at the bio-artificial organ session from Euromembranes. The presentation was well received and led to new interactions in the field of membranes. 

KIDNEW members attend ESAO conference

September 8-11, 2024

Multiple members of the KIDNEW consortium attended the ESAO conference in Aachen. Poster presentations and plenary lectures were given. Also, this was an excellent opportunity to connect with other parties.

KIDNEW organizes stakeholder workshope

The KIDNEW consortium organized a stakeholder workshop to extract (user) requirements for the future implantable artificial kidney. The workshop was attended by relevant stakeholders from many disciplines and different sides of the ecosystem.

In total, 33 participants with varying backgrounds from academic, industry, RTO/NGO and clinical. Very engaged and lively discussions in this multidisciplinary settings yielded new insights in the current status of development. In addition, new challenges were identified and the way forward was determined. All in all, it was a very fruitful and valuable day with good discussions between all participants (both physically present and remotely participating).
